With 2012 just around the corner we wanted to take a moment to let you know about a big change for our Norfolk location. We are moving to a new location. It wasn't our choice as the whole block at Wards Corner is being demolished to make way for a Harris Teeter early next year. We have a very short timeframe to make the move but the location we found is great. It's almost twice the size of the current location at 5200 square feet. It has two floors as well, 2600 square feet each. The downstairs will have a small gaming area but will be primarily retail space. The upstairs has a small cafe area and a larger room that we will be using for gaming space.

The gaming space upstairs will have space for 28 tables and will easily be able to seat over 100 players with room to spare. I'm not a big fan of jamming people in like sardines so those 28 tables will have over 4 feet between them and those 100 players need only be seated 2 per side of each 6 foot table. And of course there will be a smaller downstairs gaming area for those that aren't able to get upstairs.

With the new, bigger space we also plan to run some larger events. So keep an eye out for those. We will also be able to run events like the regional Warhammer Ard Boyz event AND still have room for all the normal events. Right now we don't have an exact date when the switch will occur but it's sometime in January. And for those worried about the distance...there's no need. It's about 5 minutes down Granby St in Ocean View. Parking is in the rear or across the street but now there's no dark alley to walk down and the street and parking lot are well lit. And it's only a block away from the beach. With such a large space we were worried about the temperature so another bonus is that this location has a geothermal heat/AC system which should do a great job. As I understand it a geothermal system runs pipes deep underground where elves have magical creatures that breath fire and/or ice trapped in caves. The creatures breath into the pipes and it keeps the store cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

If you have any questions at all about the move please stop by and talk to us. We love talking about all the great opportunities the new location offers. Or email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
