I think I've already told most people, but to make it official: the 2nd-annual ACCC will take place on July 13th. We had 28 coaches last year, 15 from Atlantis, and raised $1,350 for the Wounded Warrior Project. I think we can better all three of those numbers this time around. Cancel your kid's birthday or quit your job if you have to; you won't be sorry for long!

Here are the rules:

http://7citiesbb.com/ACCCRules.pdf

and here is the donation page where you can pay your $25 registration cost:

https://support.woun...ising/ACCC2013/

I can also take cash, check or money order, but the page above is probably the easiest registration method. As before, there are a few things that you only get if you preregister (some of which are limited and may run out before everyone gets them), and it makes the event much easier to plan, so please consider doing so.

Ask anyone who attended last year: the ACCC is a fun, relaxed, and worthwhile event. If you need advice on putting a roster together or help coming up with models, just let me know. I'm also open to any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Thanks!

Hope you can still make it, Mike!

Prizes are rolling in.

Right now we've got:
-3 full teams
-roughly 30 singles
-3 fields
-20 sets of dice
-8 vinyl dugouts
-Dreadball demo kit
-various little accessories
-Secret Weapon gift certificates

Still to come:
-at least a couple more teams
-a bunch more singles
-some sideline accessories from Battleboards
-whatever Fantasy Bowl Dices send us
-whatever West Coast Quake sends us

And as far as painted stuff goes...we'll have a Willy Morg'n'Thorg painted by Garden Ninja studios and a painted team by Jim Wappel. If you're not familiar with his work, he's won a bunch of awards and just made $45,000 on his painting DVD Kickstarter. Here's a gallery of some of his stuff:
http://apaintingchao... ... appel.html
and several pages' worth of BB teams he has done:
http://wappellious.b...h/ ... ood Bowl
I wouldn't expect a fully converted team like last year (mainly because I caught Mr. Wappel on short notice), but it should definitely be well-painted.

First round of prizes are up on the site:

http://7citiesbb.com/Prizes.php

The painted stuff isn't done (or even started, to the best of my knowledge) yet, and I haven't received anything from several sponsors, but it's a pretty good start.

Please note that the venue has changed. I repeat: the venue has changed. Please do not show up to the VFW on the 13th.

It's now at the Knights of Columbus off Virginia Beach Boulevard (address at the link above).

Also, it's about two months away and almost all of my registrants are from out of town. Let's go, ABBL.

I wasn't sure if I'd be in town, but it looks like I will be so I'll sign up... just as soon as I figure out what team to play. Dwarves worked for me last time!

Killer news. Usually, I wouldn't advise anyone to play dwarves, but I think it would be cool to have the champs try for a repeat.

Just out of curiosity, why the change in venue?

Go ahead Nate I have heard this numerous time.  Just never seen it in print. lol.  It is a good but sad reason.  I honestly think Nate did a great job in handling the problem.

We were bumped by the VFW, despite having put down a deposit and signed a contract in January. It seems that their ladies' auxiliary picnic was the same day, and absolutely couldn't be rescheduled. The post manager, who is honestly an incredibly nice guy, was apologetic but couldn't do anything for me. This was like 3 weeks ago, and finding another venue on short notice was a fairly difficult endeavor.

But yeah, the new hall is more expensive, but also cleaner and we'll have it to ourselves. I liked the atmosphere at the VFW, but asking them for any sort of accommodation (a few examples of prickly subjects: parking, barbecuing, serving alcohol) was like pulling teeth.

We can, indeed.

EDIT: There will be (somewhat limited quantities of) beer, soda, water and iced tea available (for free). I believe they have a machine in the hall if someone wants to show up and make coffee that morning. If you need something else, let me know in advance. Wine and premixed "cocktails" (Lynchburg Lemonade and the like) are allowed, hard liquor is not.

Thanks to Alan and Robert for signing up yesterday. We're getting there.

Added a few prizes to the site: some Chaotic big guys from RN Estudio and some turn markers from the NAFC (formerly known as THE Blood Bowl).

I'm looking forward to seeing them, Chuck.

In other news, I'm only getting a very short run of NAF block dice for the tournament. I'm probably going to reserve those for first-time sign-ups, so if you're looking to renew it would be smarter to do so online. If you do it online, they have a new program where you can select any color that's still in stock (the last I checked: light blue, bright green, grey, red, and yellow). On the other hand, I should have plenty of the new NAF dice sets (custom black d6s plus plain black d8s and d16s, but no block dice), if anyone wants those.

Cool, hopefully those get here in time. The NAF's North American kingpin was optimistic when I talked to him, but I haven't heard anything recently. I'll email him when the block dice get here and see if there's an update.

In other dice news, the prereg d6s are finally done and are shipping this week. They're supposed to arrive from Poland by the end of next week, and I'll post some photos after that.

Contrary to what I said yesterday, non-NAF block dice are acceptable. There are tournaments that require NAF dice, but I've never stated that previously, so there's no good reason to start doing it now.

You are required to use the tournament d6s, though.

We're at 30 31 coaches, with one week of preregistration left to go. There are several more who haven't signed up but have booked rooms and/or sworn to be there, so I'm pretty confident that we'll end up with attendance in the mid-30s. Not too bad!

Glad you can make it, Mike.

It has come to my attention that an outdated version of the tournament rules was up on the site. The correct version is up now, so please update your copy if you've downloaded it previously. If you downloaded it a long time back (I'm mainly talking to Ray here), yours is probably more or less correct. The only differences were the list of wristbands and the location.
