In the London of 1888, be Jack the Ripper or a detective on his trail in this tense game of crime and investigation

Get ready to enter into the poor and dreary Whitechapel district in 1888 London, the scenario of the mysterious Jack The Ripper murders, with its crowded and smelly alleys, hawkers, shouting merchants, and dirty children covered in rags who run through the crowd and beg for money and prostitutes - called "the wretched" -- on every street corner. The board game Letters from Whitechapel will take the players right there: one player plays Jack the Ripper, and his goal is to take five victims before being caught. The rest of the players - 1 to 5 - are police detectives, who must cooperate to catch Jack the Ripper before the end of the game.
The game board represents the Whitechapel area at the time of Jack the Ripper and is marked with 199 numbered circles linked together by dotted lines. During play, Jack the Ripper, the Policemen, and the Wretched are moved along the dotted lines that represent Whitechapel streets. Jack the Ripper moves stealthily between circular numbered circles, while policemen move on their patrols between crossings and the Wretched wander alone between the circular numbered circles.

The game includes 5 Police sheets and 5 wooden Policeman pawns (in five different colors), 1 Jack the Ripper sheet, 2 black wooden Jack pawns, 1 Jack the Ripper screen and 1 pad with 30 Jack the Ripper move track sheets, 5 white wooden Wretched pawns and several other components used to sign movements and situations on the game board, like Head of Investigation tiles, Police Patrol tokens, Woman tokens, a Time of the Crime token, Special Movement tokens and Jack's Letters tiles, all in cardboard, and Clue tokens, False Clue tokens, and Crime Scene Tokens in plastic. |

Up ahead, isolated in the Massachusetts countryside, stands a secluded mansion. This is where the clues have led you. This is where you will finally find the answers you have been seeking. As you advance through the cold, driving rain, the dim light dancing in the ornate windows gives the appearance of a dozen sinister eyes watching your approach. The very walls are infested with evil and the great house seems to stare at you with hostility, but despite the growing fear gnawing at your soul, you press on. You must. This madness has to end, and by God, it will end tonight... even if it kills you.
Designed by Corey Konieczka, Mansions of Madness is a scenario-driven board game of occult horror and mystery for two to five players. In it, one player takes on the role of the keeper, a malevolent force working to complete a sinister plot, and all other players take on the roles of investigators, the unlikely heroes who gather to oppose him.
During each game, investigator players explore an eerie location in the hopes of solving a mystery before it’s too late. Investigators win or lose as a team, and need to keep their wits about them to find the artifacts, weapons, and clues needed to stop the keeper’s diabolical plot. The keeper’s goal is to fulfill an evil scheme, which can range from driving the investigators insane to bringing about the end of the world. The keeper’s weapons are fear, paranoia... and terrifying monsters. Can a handful of brave investigators uncover the truth in time, or will the wicked plans of the keeper come to fruition?
